CA Coastal Commission

2014 Sponsorship
Los Angeles, CA

Rubio's is proud to announce its 2014 partnership with the California Coastal Commission! We are extremely excited to team up to keep our shorelines and ocean clean and healthy.
The Coastal Commission has run the Whale Tail License Plate Grants Program since 1998, which distributes funds from sales of Whale Tail license plates to organizations across CA supporting programs that connect people to the coast and watersheds. Beginning in 2014, the Commission will have a second funding source for these grants – a check box on the state income tax forms for charitable contributions to the "Protect our Coast and Oceans Fund."
We hope that you will join Rubio's and share your love for the ocean by donating to the "Protect our Coast and Oceans Fund" when filing your taxes this year. Look for it in the Voluntary Contributions section of your state tax form. Your donation is tax deductible (to be claimed the following year) and will help raise awareness about the importance of keeping our shorelines and ocean healthy and pristine.

Coastal Cleanup Day – September 20th
Los Angeles, CA

Heal the Bay is a nonprofit environmental organization founded in 1985 by a group of Los Angeles residents who couldn't stand to let unchecked pollution and toxicity claim our coastal waters. Today, the staff and volunteers employ sound research, hands-on education, community action and effective advocacy to improve the quality and health of regional oceans, watersheds and neighborhoods.
Rubio's has partnered with Heal the Bay to support its various events and educational programs, including participation in Earth Month, Coastal Cleanup Day and school field trips.
